So…I learned to type by touch during a semester of high school….can't say I'd accomplish the same with a semester of piano.

yes, because the keys are even arranged the same. like the x and m keys that are common on most pianos. honestly idk y ppl dont just use pianos to type things

Only inasmuch as you're training the muscle memory of your hands and fingers to "remember" certain positions to achieve the desired result without consciously directing them. I am a touch typist and never look at the computer keyboard keys but my lack of ability despite hundreds of hours of piano lessons sadly failed to make a competent musician out of me.
