+99 It's not that we may never reach the end of the universe that scares me, but we may never reach another galaxy. amirite?

Let's work on reaching another solar system first.

Agreed.

At the very best we'll reach the Andromeda Galaxy, but there's no telling our species would be alive to witness that.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

At very least I hope humanity becomes a multi planetary species

by Anonymous 2 years ago

We will reach Andromeda one day, whether we like it or not

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Well with an estimated 4.5 Billion years between now and that moment, how can we be sure we're still here?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

We won't be. All thanks to idiots.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Some people never reach the end of their town, i wouldn't worry about it

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Why does this scare you? So what if we can't? (Genuinely curious) Also Andromeda will eventually collide with Milky Way which is another galaxy.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

There are about a hundred billion galaxies out there, and the only ones we will (possibly) experience are two. That is to say, if we as a species have already survived that far (refer to my other replies). Also, the worlds we will never get to see, their application in physics if it adheres to ours or not. And ofc seeing another sentient society like ours.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

In my opinion a sentient society would be very unlikely to be like our since ours was super dependent on chance and random events occurring on earth and a very specific timeline of evolution. Maybe they would be closer to ocean animals. Adding: also isn't seeing another society more scary lol

Why does that scare you? There are things a lot closer that scare the heck out of me.
