It's more like things we go against that ends up being seen as good and accepted. Think of homophobia and racism. For sure people grew up to be homophobic and racist and they don't see it as something wrong. Fast forward to a few decades and the scene is so different

So, for almost every instance of "they were a product of their time", there a contemporary saying it was wrong, just no one listened to them. This isn't an inevitability, just seriously consider people's point if they tell you you're doing something unethical.
