+128 If Superbowl ads are an indicator of trends for the future, we will all be driving electric cars purchased with crypto while holding a seltzer beer really soon. amirite?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I was thinking about how bizarre all of these commercials would seem to someone from 10or 15 years ago.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Or 10 or 15 years from now. Or even tomorrow.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

like hal finney said 10 years ago, and he was right

by Anonymous 2 years ago

What do you mean? It's all the same celebrities

by Anonymous 2 years ago

The ads were weird last year. The ads this year were even weirder. They're trying way too hard to prove a point. You didn't even know what the product was until the last 5 seconds of the commercial. My kid is way more in touch with what's going on now than I am and he was still confused. We just kind of shook our heads and kept watching the game when it came back on.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yea it's like they all forgot they are writing for maybe the most general audience event of the year. And went sooooo hard into niche references and inside jokes

by Anonymous 2 years ago

And to think they axed ~~Bernie~~ Spongebob just a few years ago.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Why would you even watch the game, it's just as pointless lol

by Anonymous 2 years ago

With celebrity cameos!

by Anonymous 2 years ago

So. Many. Celebs. Geez.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

The Manning family in particular was plastered everywhere.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

OLD celebrity cameos

by Anonymous 2 years ago

… while marrying the undead.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

In VR

by Anonymous 2 years ago

As long as I don't have to deal with J. Lo.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I live in the Bay Area and this is pretty much the present situation

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I also live in the Bay Area, and the only thing that resonates are the EVs. Which I'm fine with. Crypto is not a part of my life and neither is seltzer beer.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

This

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Don't drink and drive.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Don't worry. They have non-alcoholic beers in seltzer flavors. So... soda.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

So, we need to work out a problem here. Soda is soft drinks. Hard soda is a hard soft drink. This is making my brain hurt. halp

by Anonymous 2 years ago

> Hard soda is a hard soft drink. I've never had one. They seem hot right now. I assume you drink them cold. Are they sweet? I'd prefer not. So I think I'd like to try a hot hard soda that is a cold dry hard soft drink.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I've had the Bud Light Hard Soda - Lime. It pretty much tastes exactly like Sprite. You seriously can not tell that there is alcohol even in it. No bud light after taste or anything.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

It's not exactly a hard taste to mask.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

The seltzers taste more like a soda with a mild hint of alcohol on the aftertaste. They don't taste like beer at all, more like a mixed drink. They can be on the sweet side, but some go full on flavor town (no joke intended, that's just the first way my brain described it) to the point you can't taste the alcohol

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Soft drinks of choice

by Anonymous 2 years ago

That's what AI is for

by Anonymous 2 years ago

It's wild that it's a part of every booze ad. It's like a gun ad saying "Don't point your gun at a baby when you are "cleaning" it."

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Does that mean I will get a baby pegasus!?!

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Buy it

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Aren't we already doing this? Currently drinking a white claw in my Tesla whilst it drives me home to my dogecoin mansion.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I really hope the architecture is shiba inspired

by Anonymous 2 years ago

For real. Felt like the Nissan was the only one that had a gas car in it. Like 5 or something EV.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I'm sure EVs are great if you live in a warm climate with easy access to chargers and a battery from 20 years in the future that can charge in minutes.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Nissan is for poor people without electricity.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

All the celebrities were old. Are there not popular young celebrities?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yeah, but young people don't have any money.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Pete Davidson getting tackled was the most current thing I saw.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

zendaya

by Anonymous 2 years ago

If judgement day happens I hope God or whoever will announce he's wiping us out because we let "Pete Davidson" be a celebrity

by Anonymous 2 years ago

zendaya

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Not in the same way the old ones are looked at or remembered.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

that Kia looks sweet

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Hey member the 90's? …and give us your money.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Or at least some version of us across the Multiverse.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I love how one was basically dissing the metaverse too lol

by Anonymous 2 years ago

You can do all of that now. Those are current trends. Not future ones.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Do anybody of you actually know a person in RL that even had contact with crypto or know what it is?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Nope. It's little more than a fad that'll go away in due time.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yes, almost everybody I know. I'm in my 30's

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Canned water lol

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Death to plastic. Ok.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Death by plastic more likely.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Electric car: Nope Crypto: Nope Seltzer beer: Oh hell yeah

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Maybe I'm old. And I've never actually tried a seltzer beer. But isn't just the same thing as wine coolers in the 90's? They were "malted beverages with fruit flavors". Sounds very similar.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Wine coolers weren't carbonated. These are more like Zima.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I think the big difference is that wine coolers had a lot more sugar and calories, whereas most of the seltzer beers aka hard seltzers have 90-100 calories and are sugar free.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

But will they get me *fuuuuuuuuucked up*?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

You bet

by Anonymous 2 years ago

And yet people are still fatter 😂

by Anonymous 2 years ago

They taste like carbonated water with weak flavouring but are only 100 calories.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Least among the ones I've tried, the seltzers are significantly less sweet. Pretty light flavor overall. I like them a lot.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Imagine flavored carbonated water... that'll get ya drunk

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Dude the Bud Light Hard Sodas are going to be one of the most dangerous drinks in America. The lime tastes exactly like Sprite. I wouldn't even know it was 5% alcohol or bud light flavored if it was in a cup.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I hear what you are saying. But these ads come from the most wealthy companies paying too much $ for a 30 or 60 second Ad. There is no message there! They just want to make $ There are over 7 Billion people on Earth. 90% don't even know what the Super Bowl is. You are "indicating" only a minute part of this world.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Every year. Same template.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Are you trying to tell me that Pets.com still has a chance?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I really missed the home done or smaller business commercials. It just felt like the same companies on repeat

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Well, they're just ads. Some of them movies coming out look good though.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

*organic seltzer.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

And everyone will live in The Wire.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

barf

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I seriously want to know who likes Guy Fieri.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Good. Okay. *Sigh.*

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Better than a few years ago when we were all going to die from heroin overdoses.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

If

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Nailed it

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Alcoholic sodas do sound interesting

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Watched the game an hour late and fast forwarded every ad. All those millions of dollars spent on air time just for me to skip them.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Are you not, yet?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

What I really want is a self-driving car. Companies were advertising their electric cars, but if a car is just electric and has no other special features, I'm not interested.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

.. I wanna live in flavortown BOOM

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Isnt beer already..selzter? or did they add more bubbles?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I miss the creative aspect from even a few years ago - such as the baby Mr Peanut These were all boring except maybe the one with Guy Fieri and the couple digs at meta/colonizing mars

by Anonymous 2 years ago

heh, no thanks

by Anonymous 2 years ago

ia

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Did previous trends ever pile up like that

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Seltzer isnt beer, seltzer is just carbonated water. The more you know.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

The thing is, this is exactly what is going to be happening in the next few years.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

One must remember most of the ad producers and marketing dept. live in a bubble of inner city n.y. and are out of touch with most of the population. 2 snaps and a circle. just say'n

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Just put half a shot of everclear in your favorite seltzer and you'll probably something better then their selling.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

And watching Law and Order apparently

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Are you not?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Sounds like an unused idea for that Cryptoland pitch.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

this is what real life is actually already like in Seattle

by Anonymous 2 years ago

We won't, but the 1% will...

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yeah, and we'll all be using Wang computers too I.bet

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Presumably self-driving, with the seltzer tap right in the car

by Anonymous 2 years ago

The country is also going to be way more black

by Anonymous 2 years ago
