... i would challenge this, but I need to get more material.

I'll go do that in like... five minutes.

I conducted a small poll recently and came to the same conclusion

I will have to get back to you on that

Hey, it's been at least five minutes, mate.

I don't know man, I work in base months sometimes.

I don't get it

@Boknows12 I don't get it

Pretty sure they're saying when people are asked to do things they'll say they need 5. Loads of people say "Gimme a minute" or "Give me a sec" and then come back like an hour later.

You're obviously an amateur. I negotiate my procrastinations in base units of months or years. The juice has to be worth the squeeze, right?

That's a weird way to spell "days"

I argue that it's fewer.

There is a fine balance between procrastination and indecision

Give me two seconds...

My ADHD begs to differ.

It's more like 5 seconds for me.

KilljoyXs avatar KilljoyX Yeah You Are +5Reply

So there is a minimum?

"Just give me a sec"

Effectlive97s avatar Effectlive97 Yeah You Are +5Reply

I've decided to make the base unit one life

People are seemingly missing the point of "base unit". The smallest amount is 5 minutes. Which in all respect is true. I'll confirm what I'm saying in a bit though.

I'll give you my opinion tomorrow

I'll give you thirty seconds, and I'm gone...

Guess I'm on Base 2moro

Thatoneduderyans avatar Thatoneduderyan Yeah You Are +4Reply

Honestly yeah. Sometimes I like to think of stuff based on stuff I'm looking at. I will often stand up staring into the distance thinking of things. I do this for quite a while, so yeah at least 5 minutes.

I am procrastinating on the thing I was doing before thinking.

I wish I wasn't so lazy and bad with words that could write my ideas down.

Well I'm up to about 15 of those so...

My minute to minute alarm setting habit says otherwise 🤣

Just one more minute....

Just one more minute....

For me it's whatever amount of minutes gets me to the next half-hour or hour mark. Then I'll start. (Theoretically.)

I think this is accurate. I blame my kindergarten teachers who would end recess by shouting, "five minutes," and I would run up and get in line. Five minutes seemed like forever standing in that line.

Unless you're in grad school, in which case the base unit is a thesis

Or "one more game"

3 - 5 business days

Cheytuflyas avatar Cheytuflya Yeah You Are +3Reply

If you haven't wasted 30 minutes are you really procrastinating?

Missannthropics avatar Missannthropic Yeah You Are +3Reply

my base unit is 20 mins

Okay this is really good.

Not sure that's right, but I'll get to it later

there is no such thing as a 10 minute meeting

I agree but often the base unit is not used always. Often, when waking up, I give myself 3 minutes and 32 seconds to get up.

!remindme 5 minutes

Also known as "one sec"

If 5 minutes is after this…

I would say something els, but i might wait a week tbh. Ill keep you guys updated maybe.

This...does not make me feel great about my procrastination sessions! ;)

Give me a minute to think about that.

Two procrastinations please

Wasn't it a denomination of 1, 3 and 5s?

rotersscap1982s avatar rotersscap1982 Yeah You Are +2Reply

As documented by the landmark study "Pre-Zoom Meeting Bathroom Break Expediency in Work From Home Settings"

It can take as little as 2 minutes to procrasturbate

-laughs in ADHD-

I'll procrastinate later

Tbh for me it's 2 min lol.

Girlfriend: "Can you give me a ride to the store?"

ME: "Sure are you ready?"

Girlfriend: "I just need to put on my shoes."

Me (15 minutes later) "Let's go!"

Girlfriend: "Don't rush me. I'm working on it. It makes me nervous when you always rush me."

Me: "I'll be in the car."

Not for me

how did you figure this out>?
