No to the accent. I think we say "speaking" cause the language uses sight instead of sound. And words aren't necessarily restricted to sound. If you've ever read the Inheritance Series, it's like how Eragon communicates with his dragon using pictures instead of words.

A bit of a tangent on your last sentence, but I wish I could somehow telepathically transmit to other people whats in my head. Because a lot of what's in my head isn't language. And isn't really describable with language.
