Its super weird; Almost like humans are addicted to depression? Maybe that's not the right way to say it?
I think it's more of that we're all prone to taking the path of least resistance. And often times the path of least resistance is the one where we choose to be sad about everything around us instead of working on being happy. Sounds dumb but that's my perspective I guess
It's like a jungle gym were depression is a slide and happiness is the monkey bars
Very good analogy and just like with monkey bars, it gets easier with the more practice you put in
Monkey bars made out of cardboard for some people.
Some people don't know what monkey bars are, and don't want to find out, either.
good analogy
it is evolution.
we have evolved to think negatively as to wish to improve our conditions of living as opposed to being satisfied with them.
Depression is a medical condition. Telling someone with depression to "try harder to be happy" is not helpful. Would you tell someone with a chronic illness to "try harder to get healthy"?
Sanesplaining: when someone with no knowledge or experience with mental illness attempts to correct or guide someone who does. Saddening, really.
Ok?
