Um…Dogs were historically bred to have working function such as retrieving, hunting, tracking, guarding, herding, fish net pulling, and cart pulling. Dogs' generally agreeableness and pack/family bonding just made it easier and a good candidate for human domestication. Only after does it seem we saw great value in companionship with them, myself included.
