Seize the means of production, or something like that lol

Are you saying a store bought drone with 15 min battery capacity will rob a bank? I think by the time they manage to fly into the bank most of the battery will be drained. I don't think they will have enough battery to announce they are robbing the bank.

Ever see a seagull snatch a hotdog out of a hand at the beach?
Imagine nimble flying drones snatching wallets outside the bank.

1980s Australian flick "Malcolm" uses drone ashtrays to rob a bank. Good movie!

I don't know how it works in the USA, but here in the Netherlands most bank don't carry cash. Only if you order it upfront. And there would be a max I presume.

There are a few cashless banks now, but the majority still have tills, cashiers and the usual settup.

Here there are less and less banks, they close them real quick.
We got ATM at the most shoppingmall and some in store. Every shop has an atm for debit card. Cash is not needed anymore.

Youtube Drone Shield or drone gun

A gun would be too complicated. Just a stick of dynamite and a note attached to the drone should do the trick.

Hmm.
Well you'd need to limit the amount of time it spends being reachable by anyone. Possibly you could have it spray CS gas and threaten to spread something worse. There's also the problem of weight. Money weighs a lot. And the more you want the larger the drone and doors don't get that big at banks. They're also easy to track visually and via noise.
So you would probably need a hole in the roof of the bank. A big ass drone with cargo net and some kind of weapon it can deploy. Communication equipment. And I'd probably program a route for it so I could just dump the gas and bail without having to pilot visually. Then there's the retrieval problem. Probably best is to have it drop in a very far off road area with fast exits on a dirt bike or atv. I'd probably even destroy the thing as well after.
And still you risk having the drone tracked, either after the robbery via parts used or during as it flies off. Prints on it. Weapons failure. And the good old bystander grabbing it, which I see as the main issue. Because it has to be a flying drone or there's no shot at it getting away.

So your saying there's a chance.

Rob the bank, use drone for money bags getaway, getaway yourself, change appearance, no need to worry about cumbersome evidence of suspect bags full of cash. I'm in! Hum I mean, call 911!

They've figured out how to make a drone shoot a gun by now right?
by Anonymous2 years ago
It's been known that the police also uses drone, especially to catch other drones, using a net.
Drone wars. We really are living in the future.
