That's exactly the opposite. They hear us talking all the time, but don't understand anything save a few key words. It makes sense then, if we were actually able to see their dreams, that their perception of us talking would just be random sounds.

I don't understand why I'd have to know their dreams to know that. That's their reality without a dream state. I could read their mind right now and gain the knowledge.
