If the barking of my dog is an indication of how much they would talk, I'm not sure I would want them to be able to talk.

Nobody really wants to have a pet that can communicate with them. It sounds like it would be great, but we would regret it.

I think everyone with a pet would say their pets communicate with them in some way. But I know what you mean. Reminds me of Chandler on Friends and the talking dog.
