The opposite of fast reading is slow reading. There's no such thing as fast hearing because the speed of sound is the speed of sound. The medium it's traveling through can affect it.

When I watch YouTube, I very rarely watch anything at less than 2x speed and sometimes I go up to 4x speed if I want to get through something quickly. It is possible to train yourself to understand what is being spoken at faster speeds.

That's faster comprehension

i mean...people dont speak of it much but i do think it exists because i think that i am an unusually 'slow hearer'. It takes me a lot of time to process what i have heard....noticeably more than other people. I can read remarkably fast...much faster than average. But spoken language is just slow for me. If i watch jeopardy, for example, I usually have not processed what was said before a contestant gives an answer.

Comprehension. Op is saying the speed of sound is constant outside of variable factors

There was an NPR segment a while back about someone who studied in college by listening to audiobooks at increased speed. He trained himself to listen at a very high rate of playback in order to maximize his study time. I'd say he trained himself to be a speed listener.
