Great example of this: Guy finds loophole in ATM that allows him to withdraw money without affecting his bank balance. Guy withdraws and spends millions of dollars over several months. Bank sniffs around and asks questions. Lots of time passes and nothing happens. Guy goes on a TV show and talks about the loophole in the ATM. Bank, who was going to write off the loss to maintain trust of their other customers, then prosecutes guy because now that it's public that is the way to maintain trust. Guy went to jail. STFU
