+135 It's weird to think that there's an environment out there where we as Humans are perfectly adapted to survive in without technology. amirite?

considering that's what we did, i don't think it's that weird.

In the context of what we are now. You, and I will never know what it means to live without technology. Even if we totally destroyed human civilization as we know it; you will always have the knowledge to construct shelter and tools. But technically by natures playbook there should be a place where we could hypothetically survive with neither.

A rock sharpened on another rock is technology, by the way.

Don't worry we'll eventually go extinct, then maybe another species can acquire intelligence, but probably not.

Don't forget technology predates us by at least 1 million years. Homo erectus was using fire and stone tools long before we came along. In fact one quite elegant theory is that our ancestors were only able to eat the calories needed to develop bigger brains because they had fire - try eating a pound of raw vs cooked carrots. Anyway my point is that we never survived just by using our own tooth & claw - we are the product of technology, not the other way around.
