Whatever you say Taylor Swift.

Or Spielberg.

>but in the big picture, due to their low numbers, they don't really matter
I mean, it is being used as a virtue signalfest, but what the hell are you on about here?
In terms of average emissions per person, Taylor Swift's private plane emissions are comparable to the same amount of emissions as 1,200 people. And we haven't even counted any emissions caused by boating, car or home use!
Reducing her usage isn't killing 2 birds with 1 stone, it's killing 1,200 birds with 1 stone.

doesn't she loan her plane out?
by Anonymous2 years ago
does that make as much of a difference as you think?
by Anonymous2 years ago
i don't know. i don't even keep up with it
by Anonymous2 years ago
Well, if she didn't loan it out the friends, they'd have to buy regular plane tickets.

compare those numbers to all planes flying with holiday or business passengers, all cargo or cruise ships and you will find the numbers are low compared to the masses.

Their point is that in the big picture, 1200 people is not that much. The population of the US increases by about 3x that much each day

Are you on Ms Swifts PR team? Being an apologist for these mega rich celebrities is not a good look.

I identify as an eco-lib and i agree with OP. I'm even going to throw in Bezos' flying to space.
Tay-tay and Spielberg are making money boosting the economy and paying for stuff. Making jobs and speeding across the world in a jet helps them make more money. Because they're the elite they do get the right and privilege to do stuff that sparks our imagination.
I wish this much hatred existed for the average citizen; you're an orc for choosing dryer sheets over wool balls and smoking cigs on main street is still an issue we need to solve.
Have you examined the dyes used in your clothing? They're disgustingly toxic. We can all do better.
These examples aren't making money or profit they make us all sicker with no gain.

Not everything is about the economy. Swift and Spielberg can do the same using commercial jets.
