In U.S football, Passing yards shouldn't include yards after the receiver catches the ball. amirite?

But where the QB throws the ball affects how many yards the receiver can get after the catch.

There is a stat that quantifies what you're saying. It's called ‘completed air yards'

This should be the standard when they show how much a QB threw for. Ssooo many bad to average QB's get bailed out by elite WR's and RB's when they dump it off.

It definitely pads QB stats; but it's technically RAC or YAC (run/yards after catch) for the receiver, an undervalued stat. Should RAC only be receiving yards & not count towards QB stats? If so, they should be completely separated.

Nah the QB should also be rewarded for leading the receiver and hitting them on the fly for extra yards after the catch
