courts should really enforce their dress code policy, amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
So the long lines at court are due to people wearing jeans ? Or a t shirt? Lol

Slippers obviously

I think they mean that the wait time could be reduced if court officers kicked out anybody who wasn't dressed "appropriately".

What if they don't have that clothing? Do they give up their right to defend themselves in court?

Courts should serve everyone including people who are poor, homeless, mentally ill, disfigured, socially inept, etc. These people are already at a disadvantage because of prejudice and (unconscious) biases. You would like to erect another barrier for them to get justice?

im not even asking for shirt/blazers/suit pants. just regular tshirt, jeans, sneakers would do.

Courts should get rid of their dress code.

Why would dress code fix long lines? Long lines at entry is typically an issue of morons not taking things out of their pockets when they've been instructed to. Has nothing to do with wearing a pair of shorts or a dress shirt.

to have them return back later with proper attire. not even asking for suit/business casuals. wear a tshirt, jeans, and a sneakers, at least

I guess my confusion is that I've been to court many times and no one has ever been turned away for proper attire. Maybe if their clothing was grievously bad, but shorts and a T-shirt? nope.

courts should get rid of the dress code. i have one pair of shoes and i only wear t shirts and sweatpants. i'm never buying or renting a suit for anything
by Anonymous1 year ago
that has absolutely nothing to do with how long the line is
