Was just thinking this watching Ms. Marvel. Wasn't as bad as the haters made it seem, wasn't great either. But it was clearly aimed more at the teenage crowd, so it's no surprise it didn't appeal to someone in their 30s.
If someone doesn't enjoy a show, then it is bad from their perspective. Who are you to tell people not to express their opinion. If someone thinks a show is horrible and that nobody should watch it, why shouldn't they give a negative review? Isn't the whole point of audience rating systems to gauge the percentage of people that enjoyed something? Wouldn't those results be skewed if people who hated the show did not give their opinion because ‘not every show is for them'?
I can't understand why people can't delineate between something that is bad and something not for them.
I don't really follow Peaky Blinders anymore but I'm not gonna say it's a bad show. It's probably a great show and if someone asked id give it 8/10. But not my fav and I won't watch anymore episodes.
I would never live in NYC but it's one of the greatest cities in the US.
Would the target audience simply be marvel fans for that? Which would mean they did not enjoy how it was written, especially when it comes to She Hulk herself.
Maybe they should explicitly said this in every single review out there, "the show is bad in my personal opinion, it doesn't represent the entire human race".
I always find it funny to see people bitching about movies when they're not the intended audience. Like, of course, you didn't absolutely love the Disney movie full of cutesy music and boy bands, you're not the preteen/tween girls that it was marketed to.
She hulk is just average so far, cgi is wonky and I find the humour abit cringe.
The best shows have a wide target audience
Mad Men should've had Friends numbers then.
Mad Men definitely doesn't have a broad audience.

For the same reason I do not like Dora the Explorer but I wont give it a bad review because I am 30.
I don't think you're understanding what OP is saying.
Depends on what it is about and how long I've been a fan of similar stuff
What's this show?

Conversely, just because you personally enjoy something doesn't mean that it's actually good.
There's definitely things that I enjoy that are objectively bad.
rick and morty is bad
Joe Pera talks with you is the only show that is for everyone. Check it out if you can, it is on HBO Max.
Not unpopular
Got an example?
She hulk
Would the target audience simply be marvel fans for that? Which would mean they did not enjoy how it was written, especially when it comes to She Hulk herself.
I think people can tell the difference between a show they think is bad and a show that isn't for them.
Bridgerton isn't for me but I understand why it's popular.
I don't. Review bombing of TV shows makes that quite clear
Oh c'mon the least you can do is giving a proper example.
For me, the best example would be Breaking Bad.
It's beloved by critics and its audience Bryan Cranston is a great actor.
I don't like it, but it's not a bad show. I just don't think I fall into it's demographic.
I mean yeah. But if the majority thinks it's bad then it's referred to as bad. But it doesn't mean it necessarily is bad.
Maybe they should explicitly said this in every single review out there, "the show is bad in my personal opinion, it doesn't represent the entire human race".
I would say that the show failed in advertising/setting expectations then if it attracted the wrong audience to that degree.
People discovering other opinions, colorized
It does mean it's bad. Being bad is an opinion, so it's bad to some, good to some

Not really an unpopular opinion but okay.
