Spaghetti is better without parmesan cheese, amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
parmigiano reggiano is the cheese you need

Yeah. He's using powdered cellulose from a green can or maybe grated wisconsin parmesian.
Grated parmigiano reggiano makes everything taste better.

I love my parmesan; +1 from me.

Powdered parmesan is gross. Every family had that shaker of it growing up and I hated it. But as an adult I discovered *shaved* parmesan and I put it on everything even remotely appropriate.

Italian here, I have to agree with this.

That's because you only know American cheese, and honestly pretty much anything is better without whatever it is you guys put in there lmao

Who are you to tell me what I only know? You don't even know me yourself.
by Anonymous1 year ago
You're a born and raised American it's not in your DNA to know good cheese
Also this is obviously a joke, just feel like I have to point that out because you strike me as someone who gets offended easily

I wasn't entirely born and raised American, my diet goes well beyond what we eat here. But I will admit that I do still like the "real" American stuff, I'm more into the foods of other cultures however.
As far as getting offended easily yes and no. Not for everything, but there are a couple of things yes.
One of them is drawing conclusions for me and sticking me in that box, or gaslighting as it's more simply put. This has a lot to do with my childhood though. I had an abusive mother and stepfather along with her family who did that to me my entire life.
This is where it felt like you were going which is why I responded in turn how I did. Now if I was wrong in drawing this conclusion myself then I apologize for that.
The other one is ignorance, but not just in the general sense of the word. I mean ignorance in the "covid is a hoax and vaccines are evil" kind of way where it's a complete disregard of the well being of those around them or another example which America is a perfect one of is the wealthy looking down on the rest of us.

Agree - freshly grated Romano is best.

This is a very unpopular opinion but I agree. No, not even the "nice" stuff. Sometimes ya just want salty carbs, tomato, and garlic.

It depends what sauce

I wholeheartedly agree

'pasta of whatever shape'
so... not spaghetti?
by Anonymous1 year ago
Everyone in America for the most part refers to pasta with marinara sauce as Spaghetti. I treat it as a nickname, but I know that Spaghetti is actually the pasta itself.
