Hollywood scenes today is always shot with just one actor at a time. I hate it. amirite?

Totally agree. It's just low effort and far less immersive. Luckily Hollywood isn't the only place making movies. The Memories of Murder video you linked is a perfect example, what a banger.

This is one of those opinions that isn't unpopular, people just didn't know they had it until someone else brought it up.

If true, is there a reference for movies that do this sort of thing?

Probably applies to movies shot in 2020, 2021, 2022 with Covid considerations?

It started before that, especially for action scenes

It applies to movies of the last several decades. It's just a simple device used to mimic people having conversations. If I'm talking to you face-to-face, you're looking at me and I'm looking at you. To create immersion, cinematographers shoot one person. It's been done forever, and why? Because it works.

Yeah, personally I'm not complaining at all. No idea what the OP's issue is.

The rona. Hollywood is one of the few places still pretending about it, which is not a surprise.

Is this just in reaction to Coronavirus or has it been going on for a while now?

It's too expensive to keep all of the actors on set at the same time. Now they can film each one according to their schedule in front of a green screen and copy and paste them in at their convenience.
