We produce too many raisins as a country, amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
Does anybody else enjoy raisins as a snack but hate them when they are added to other foods like collard greens?
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yes, I forget the name, but the ones that come in the red boxes are my favorites.

Sun maid?

That's it! Thanks!

Raisins are incredible. If you don't want them, I'll eat them.

A bit high in fluoride, pretty high in bioavailable boron and silica too. Overall a great nutritious snack.
I use it to flavor my ferment drink

I am sorry, but they just don't taste good. I do not need 10 more boxes of raisins every week. Every week

I don't eat it straight too often too. It's great for flavoring ginger beer, jun and combucha though

Sell your excess raisins to these weirdo raisin lovers here. I agree, they're disgusting as a snack.

The raisins sold as snacks aren't the type you'd really use for wine. Also, it's a food bank, why would they be handing out enough to bake with
by Anonymous1 year ago
They do hand out other things in baking quantities... It all just depends on what gets donated to them. It is usually stuff a few days from expiring

Raisins are goated

Sounds like you've never had the delicious beverage known as Kvas. It's like a non alcoholic beer soda with chunks of bread and raisins floating in it.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Nah I will look into it though
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yeah... As if we needed more alcohol
by Anonymous1 year ago
At least it won't be creating food waste
by Anonymous1 year ago
Raisins last like a good while no?
by Anonymous1 year ago
They will literally last years, OP doesnt understand why we dry food.
by Anonymous1 year ago
No it gets tough. You are missing about how food they give is nearly expired
by Anonymous1 year ago
The date on a box of raisins is not an expiration date. It's a "best by" date. They'll last years past that date.
