Actually we have the shopping cart test. It is the ultimate litmus test for whether a human is a good member of society. It costs nothing but a moment for an able bodied person to return a shopping cart, returning it is universally acknowledged as the right thing to do. So a person who returns a shopping cart can be viewed as a person who is considerate of others, follows societal expectations, in other words is "good". On the other hand, while it is not illegal to abandon one's cart, failure to return it signals that the individual is lazy, apathetic or otherwise unwilling to do the literal bare minimum. So "bad". If you ever want to know if a person is worth dating, doing business with, etc. See what they do with their cart.

I almost never return the cart, but I save kids around the world and will not hesitate to sacrifice my life for strangers, your logic debunked.
