We're so quick to assume that anyone who isn't considered normal is suffering, amirite?

I think it's safe to say that everyone is suffering in some way. It may be something small, like a blister from walking a lot on your amazing vacation, or big, like being homeless and mentally ill with no possibility of fixing either situation, but EVERYONE is suffering, so the best approach is to be kind and don't judge someone by your own standards of what constitutes pain that is "valid".

I'll add the obligatory "and that those who are considered normal are not sufferng"

Because blaming the toxic parts of their personality on afflictions lets them avoid responsibility and replace it with pity.

Rather than consider that a normal person is suffering being normal.

Normal is a setting on a washing machine.

And so quick to deem people who diverge from the norm undeserving of help
