Can't be born an orphan, since you have your mom literally right there, also you still have a prequel it could just be like Star Wars and have to wait awhile for your prequel story to be told.

I was thinking the same thing but if the father is dead already and the mother died right before you're born I think technically you'd be an orphan.

I think it's more likely their essence moves on to their offspring in a far too obvious effort to live forever. Burn them with fire to be sure.
