One of my groomsman had to be coerced into coming, he was dating the maid of honor and they had a fight the night before because he didn't show up for the rehearsal dinner, and then got bodily threatened by my mother in law when he tried to leave before the reception. She gave him the "supportive shoulder hug so hard his shoulder was bruised. 😅
