Timothee is overhyped bit he is an really good actor nevertheless. He was incredible in King Athur, Little women amd Dune to name only a few. And he wasnt playing himself in CMBYN, because as far as I know he is neither gay nor bisexuell so he never expierenced this deep homosexuel relationship with all the ups and downs. Which is the main point in the movie (not him being french).

I haven't seen enough of him as an actor to really have an opinion on it. However I have been given the impression that he (at least in the beginning) has been most sought after by film makers already popular amongst the tumblr crowd.
