You don't have to be origonal to be good. Yeah, they were a long way away from being the pioneers of Indie Rock but they were just really good at it. There's not much to understand, many people just like them more than you do. A lot of things you love aren't liked by many others. They're rated as people enjoy them and if tons of people think they're awesome then great, that's what they're rated. If others don't like them that much then that comes into play. But they are very good at what they do.
