With everything going on in the world, the divide between myself and others beyond those I do know, is too great to be really spending an money / energy on. About 150 people get any consideration and that's about it.
yep! the point is that there are so many selfish (in the real sense) people that we keep reading (and sometimes hearing) that being selfish is the way, they just want validation and share or overshare... while being selfless is unpopular and you almost never hear or read of it
Follow rule number one: look out for number one.
Sometimes it is your mental health, sometimes it's your wallet. But the fact is that you can't help others properly until you help yourself. Put your air mask on first
Yeah I'm saying people go too far in that direction. If there's only one parachute, of course take it for yourself. But people take it too far and just become selfish
Yeah. It's called middle age.
Basically play it by ear is the simple way to put it
Everyone can see that there is a middle. But you don't need to teach kids to be selfish, you teach them to share.
Not every kid. This is a delicate balance to strike and you want to be reasonably sure you're teaching the right lessons to the right kid.
Sure - im speaking generally because there are definitely outliers. But with younger kids, being selfish is completely normal. And I mean younger like toddlers, not 8 or 10 years old.
Can't take care of others if you're not taken care of yourself. Learned that from the airplane safety videos.
Let compassion guide you, including compassion for yourself. Bear in mind that everyone is ignorant and everyone is suffering.
Everything is about balance. Everyone wants to label something as good or bad for you. Life is not this simple
Middle ground doesn't create engagement online.
I wouldn't say this is an unpopular opinion. Trouble is people have difficulty executing it…
common sense only unpopular if one is exceptionally dumb
