Yeah, that's what toddlers need to be happy, a scholarship.

Exactly. OP sounds like the kind of person who begrudges people in poverty having any kind of fun or comfort.

Tell that to the millions of children who are able to open up Christmas gifts that they otherwise wouldn't be. As a marine I can tell you this is not a useless charity and provides a lot of joy where there otherwise was none.

How is it useless?
by Anonymous2 years ago
The charity wasn't designed to help people out of poverty. That's a massive reach lol.
It's just to allow kids to feel special and loved at Christmas.
Personally I think the pressure to buy and provide gifts is absolutely ridiculous but that's an opinion for another time

Toys can go a long way, and scholarships are mighty expensive. Do some research on why play is important during childhood. Don't underestimate the power of toys and happiness.

YOU go ahead and tell a 5 year old...here's a hot meal and some food vouchers for Christmas. Santa isn't coming this year.

OP is mad about Toys for Tots because they can't tell children how to play with their toys.
by Anonymous2 years ago
I know of a kid that is 4 years old and has 2 toys (a small truck and a basketball). I am pretty sure if he got a third toy it would be a tresured possesion of his.

Toys for Tots is about giving joy to children.
Toys for Tots was never about ending poverty.

toddlers don't get toys only meals and education!!!
i think the idea is that there are charities that provide meals and education for children, and there are also charities that provide toys and other things that kids enjoy for children.

I doubt the kid receiving this charity throw the toys out a few months later

Now Toys for Tits....that there is a worthwhile organization.

You got my attention.

Isn't toys for tots more towards the veterans? Making them feel like they're doing something important?
by Anonymous2 years ago
The program is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. It's not run by a veteran group. It's active duty and reservist Marines who participate in the program. The whole point of it is to give toys to low income children.
