While I agree that the first one is the best, and that the EA influence definitely dumbed down the sequels, I cant agree that they weren't good. Andromeda on the other hand should have have been amazing. The premise was brilliant. But the execution was straight up garbage. I would like to see mass effect go back to its first game roots, but I'll settle for decent story telling and characters.

If you liked Mass Effect 1 for the reasons I did, the sequels just feel like a huge letdown.

Something being not as good doesn't mean it's bad. All 3 games were great. I prefer the second though because the stupid Mako sections in the first ones I HATED. I really hated them and there were so much of it, especially if you wanted to explore all the places. But regardless, I don't think 1 is bad, I still think it's great.

I'd say 2 was the best. It introduced the most iconic characters in the series after all

i loved ME, hated 2 & 3 - for roughly the reasons you stated above for me 2&3 we're like the alien sequels; the essence of what made the original great had been replaced with typical action sequel affair ironically it's Andromeda i like second-most (bugs and all) it's a nice looking fun game to play which is more than i could ever say for the second and third games

I bought the trilogy and gave them all away eventually. They're bad shooters and I don't remember a single character except Shepard.

Played 1-3, didnt touch Andromeda. Personally I think its an ok series. Its good, just nowhere near as great as some people claim. Agree that the 1st is the best.
