+144 Four years feels longer when you're 12 than when you're 28. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Because when you are 12, its one third of your life. When you are 28, its only one seventh

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Did you mean to say this the other way around?

I don't think so. 4 years of a 12 year life = one third of that life. 33% 4 years of a 28 year life, one seventh of that life. 14%. So it seems longer to the 12 year old because its a bigger chunk of their overall life.

Ohhh! I took it in the sense of 28 is roughly 1/3 of someone's life. Didn't think about the math of four years. Apologies!

The 4/years is the 1/3 and 1/7 not years/life.

I saw a video about this. It has to do with the amount of things you have experienced and it causes time periods to feel shorter the more things you have experienced in life.

Could you drop the link to that, sounds interesting.

makes sense, 5 years for someone who is 90 years old is literally nothing, but now 5 years if u are 10 years old is literally half of whole life, half of every single thing u ever experienced

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well, yeah. More changes and things happen then than when you are 28.
