For me, I disagree. I like holidays with my family more. It transports me back to my childhood which was really awesome. Talking sports with my dad while he grills, having a cuddle puddle with all my siblings, decorating our Christmas trees together, and just enjoying each other. Those times are rare since most of us kids are out of the house and spread across the country.
I love Friendsgiving. It's so much fun to have dinner with people you actually have lots of things in common with. Whenever I eat with my family it's pretty silent and I can feel tension, whereas with my friends we crack lots of jokes and I feel good vibes.
Idk if unpopular, but I agree. I actively choose to spend holidays with my friends over family the majority of the time. And I still call it thanksgiving, not Friendsgiving or something else. It's still thanksgiving, no matter who you spend it with. It's totally more fun with people of your choosing than with people you feel obligated or forced to spend it with.
I love my family, but I agree. We moved to another state and made a big friend group here. We've hosted many gatherings for holidays, and it's always so fun. We're doing it again tomorrow.
It all depends on the family and the friends. I will say the older you get the more you appreciate the family.

I can see that, and those seem like pretty good reasons, my family has never really had those traditions tho so it makes it harder to relate
While I don't agree they're "better" perse, I do think they should be far more socially acceptable than they are.
That's a fair take

We try go to Moab every thanksgiving. So peaceful having the desert to ourselves.
That sounds like a really nice time, and a good place to spend it with friends
It is the most quality time I've had with friends or even family for that matter.
