More likely humans chasing prey. In animal terms, humans are not proficient at running from predators. We are comparatively very slow. They survived mostly by frightening away predators or avoiding them altogether. As a hunter though, humans were good at chasing down prey long distances until they wore out.

Very true, humans are excellent "coursing predators." We'll just run behind you til you fall over dead. Fun side note, a rhino can flip a vehicle, but will die from adrenal shock if chased for 5 minutes by a golf cart.
