How dare you, you ... you monster

My younger brother doesn't like mashed potatoes
by Anonymous2 years ago
Me too bro. Are you on the spectrum?
by Anonymous2 years ago
Nope, I usually don't have a problem with textured foods but there's something about the taste of mashed potatoes and the texture combined that makes it 10x worse.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Dude, yes. It's like eating food that someone else chewed for me. I don't have a problem with yogurt or any other semi-liquid food, but mashed potatoes just feel wrong.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Yeah, it's horrible. If I could ban a food it would probably be mashed potatoes. Or a durian. That one I also can't stand.

My son has autism and has the same texture issue with foods, yet will eat chips which fundamentally is mashed potato with a coat š¤£
by Anonymous2 years ago
Nah I disagree with that analogy because I don't like potato croquettes which are actually mashed potato with a coat for the same reason I don't like mash potato (the mouth feel), chips are just smaller roast potatoes.
I'm also on the spectrum but I totally get your son's differentiation between the two things as they are totally different IMO.

Textures for him is a nightmare, even socks. Admittedly I don't understand but I don't argue with him if it makes him feel uncomfortable in anyway

The bomb I have planted in your car:
by Anonymous2 years ago
As someone from Idaho, I disagree! Haha
by Anonymous2 years ago
That's a very specific food aversion. Do you eat other foods with a similar texture? (eg mashed sweet potatoes, mashed cauliflowers, even hummus)
by Anonymous2 years ago
try balut

Op is one of the worst Op's to exist

I love them. They are the only soft food that I can tolerate haha. That said, overmashed potatoes are truly disgusting.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Are you sure it was mashed potatoes? Sounds like you might have eaten tear gas.
by Anonymous2 years ago
This is your personal food aversion. That doesn't make it the worst food to ever exist. Have you tried offal?
by Anonymous2 years ago
Nope, I had to look up what that was.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Literally the exact opossite!

Well you seemā¦interesting.

Great name I know. š
by Anonymous2 years ago
I can eat mashed potato but the consistency doesn't feel good to me so I choose not to eat them. It's the mouth feel for me.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Yeah, it's gross. Mushy foods are fine but with mashed potatoes all I can think about is eating barf because the taste is horrible too.
by Anonymous2 years ago
We talking natural or powdered?
by Anonymous2 years ago
You don't know how to make them, or you're making them from a box. Litterally, you boil fresh potatos for like 30-45 mins, put them in a bowl, add butter and milk, salt and pepper, squish them and mix them. Done. They tastes like god's gift to man.
by Anonymous2 years ago
I will admit that mashed potatoes from scratch are slightly better, but they're still gross to me.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Lol, scrolled onto this as I was taking my first bite of Thanksgiving mashers
by Anonymous2 years ago
That's exactly why I tried it again today because it's Thanksgiving, bad idea lol.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Fries are literally the same thing with a crispy outside
by Anonymous2 years ago
Completely different taste and consistency, I love fries. I don't really like those thick potatoey fries like wedges though.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Pass me yours, I'll eat it.
by Anonymous2 years ago
Did they have any butter or milk added to them?
by Anonymous2 years ago
I love mashed potatoes when they're made well, but I've had them and hated them before as well. If they weren't well made I could understand not liking them.
