I sweat. I always have, but it's definitely worse now that I'm heavier. If my apartment was 78° I'd just exist in as a semi-solid at all times, like a pudding person.
68 in the winter (66 at night) and 74 in the summer (windows open at night when possible or air set to 70). I'm currently in AK where we don't need or have air at all.
That sounds like me. I love it when it gets to 40 or 50 outside (F of course) and I can open the window and sleep by it, so I am actually *comfortable* instead of waking up in a sweat.
That's exactly what I do at my apartment...I wake up really cold and can hopefully curl up in my bed and then I close it let the apartment heat up so I can walk around and do my things and rinse and repeat
I tend to prefer to leave it open and just curl up under a blanket, or put on slightly warmer clothes if it is too cold for me.
However, I also have an issue with heat, where if I start sweating, I cannot cool down, and will get headaches, so I definitely prefer keeping it colder than would be truly comfortable, rather than have it be warmer (since it can be very difficult to get it 'just right' and keep it there.)
Insanity. It would cost $1000+ a month to keep my house at 82 degrees throughout the winter, my skin would dry out, and I'd sweat every time I did any household task.
I'm from the UK and I know NOBODY that knows the specific temperatures of their homes. It's either the heating is on or off. Gets a bit hot, turn it off, gets a bit cold, turn it on. Then again, unfortunately we've had an awful energy crisis here for about the last year, where hardly anyone can even afford to heat their homes decently.
Still though, I know Americans have had the thermostat and specific temperature settings as standard for a long time, must be cool.
my wife and i got lucky - here in the north end of wisconsin our two story cabin in the woods is essentially divided so that she gets the upstairs and i get the ground floor
i like it cold and dark, she likes it very warm and bright - so she gets all the windows and ambient heat of the living room/kitchen and i get the cool, dark of the bedroom/office
right now it's 58° down here and 76° up there, everybody's happy (and the staircase is situated such that we can still chat w/ each other with ease)
I walk around in shorts/t-shirt in 60 degrees without getting cold. if I kept my house at 78-80, no one would want to live with me, because I would have to be *naked* to not be constantly sweating, and even then it wouldn't necessarily work....
You need it to be 80 to be comfortable in shorts and a t shirt? I would be butt ass naked sitting in the bath tub with ice cubes. Anything over 72 is sweating for me.
I pretty much said this above :P I have to keep my house warmer than I like because I don't live alone, but thankfully it doesn't have to be as hot as OP wants it. If I lived with OP, *one* of us would be outside most of the time, and it would probably be me praying for a cold wind....
That's way too hot. My wife likes it at 21c (70f) and that's a bit too warm for me sometimes. It's a genuine unpopular opinion though, so fair play on that count.
PS. For anyone using metric, 80f is about 26.5c. I googled it so you don't have to.
I like 78f in the summer. Most will think that's way too hot, but out here in the desert it's stays 100-110f outside, it's like stepping into a freezer after being outside in that heat.
Currently in the fall/winter months the lowest my house has been 60-61f at night/early morning reaching 63-65f mid-day/evening. Haven't had the urge to use the heater yet. This is comfortable in shorts/wife beater.
Yuck- way to warm for my taste. I like it between 68 and 72. Any hotter than 74 and I start to be uncomfortable indoors without a ceiling fan. 80 and I'd be sweating and gross.
I keep our temperature at the Nicest degree.
Are you a mushroom?
I'm more than warm at 72 - sometimes I even turn it down, depending on how I'm dressed.
Enjoy your terrarium, you god damn lizard.
Even if I liked it that hot I'm too poor to pay for that. Winter my heat is on 65 and Summer my ac is at 80.
15-16c at most, higher and its hell
Obviously a liar.
You live in a hot climate don't you
False. 69 is perfect.
WAY too hot. In the summer we drop the AC to about 68 ish and 72 in the winter. I even turn the heat off at night and drop it to 68 sometimes.
You should get some blood work done
Could be hyperthyroidism
Dang, that's way to hot.
I sweat. I always have, but it's definitely worse now that I'm heavier. If my apartment was 78° I'd just exist in as a semi-solid at all times, like a pudding person.
Ok Rockefeller.
Too damn hot!
68 in the winter (66 at night) and 74 in the summer (windows open at night when possible or air set to 70). I'm currently in AK where we don't need or have air at all.
That is way to hot 80 degrees fine keep your house burning I couldn't care less
Yeah, if you live in FL, this is not feasible.
My house is a constant 76 with floor fans running, so it's more like 72.
You're a monster.
You are cold blooded, or you live near the equator. I'm starting to sweat at 75.
I say around 78-77.
Girl it's so cold outside and I'm visiting my parents and they have the house at 74 and I'm struggling to sleep and not die from heat exhaustion
That sounds like me. I love it when it gets to 40 or 50 outside (F of course) and I can open the window and sleep by it, so I am actually *comfortable* instead of waking up in a sweat.

80F is too hot. I'd be uncomfortable at that temp…
You'd just about boil in that.
Way too hot. My thermostat never goes above 60.
This is odd considering ideal sleeping temp is high 60s.
That's hot af. 74 is a nice sweet spot for me.
I'm walking around in my underwear now and my house is at a comfortable 67 degrees
I like having money in my bank account. I'll risk wearing clothes for physical comfort. But you do you.
We warm blooded people generally don't use AC much when it's really hot though so it sort of evens out.
Insanity. It would cost $1000+ a month to keep my house at 82 degrees throughout the winter, my skin would dry out, and I'd sweat every time I did any household task.
68 is too hot in this house.
I think 68 is a good temperature.
My house remains 65l3 in the winter and 80 in tbe summer.

Not in Celsius. Can confirm

Not old would it expensive to do that, 78 is already way too lot for the inside in a home let alone 82
Ooof, WAY too warm. 67. 74 and I can't sleep.
My house is currently 65°F. Perfect temp.
You need it to be 80 to be comfortable in shorts and a t shirt? I would be butt ass naked sitting in the bath tub with ice cubes. Anything over 72 is sweating for me.

I need a house to be at about 78 to be comfortable in shorts.
Anywhere between 68-72 is acceptable
That's way too hot. My wife likes it at 21c (70f) and that's a bit too warm for me sometimes. It's a genuine unpopular opinion though, so fair play on that count.
PS. For anyone using metric, 80f is about 26.5c. I googled it so you don't have to.
82? Are you sick?
78 82 is uncomfortably warm
I like 78f in the summer. Most will think that's way too hot, but out here in the desert it's stays 100-110f outside, it's like stepping into a freezer after being outside in that heat.

70-72 is perfect and comfortable and reasonable in cost to keep my house warmed to in the winter
I can never understand why people like there house to be hot as hell. Personally I believe a house should only be 16-18 degrees
Not if it's 88-92 degrees outside.
I sleep with my ac on 68f
What's that in real temperature?!
298.7K to 300.9K
Thank you
finally an unpopular opinion. that said i can happily go about in shorts and a tank at 67.
too hot. i'd pass out
No the best temp is 65-70 degrees, you are insane bc that is way too hot, maybe you have something medically wrong…
Yuck- way to warm for my taste. I like it between 68 and 72. Any hotter than 74 and I start to be uncomfortable indoors without a ceiling fan. 80 and I'd be sweating and gross.
