+173 The chevy camaro is more of a muscle car than the Ford mustang, amirite?

I think that's like saying that a chimpanzee is more of an ape than an orangutan

the body lines on the camaro gives more of a muscle car vibe to me personally. the mustang doesn't look like an american car anymore, let alone a muscle car.

I have always interpreted "Muscle Car" to mean an American made affordable sports car that achieves performance by having a V8 with a lot of horse power.

Ford literally released the mustang as a "pony car", they're cool cars but not really true muscle

really cool cars i agree. whenever i see a camaro it still gives off a muscle car vibe i can't explain, but the mustangs don't.

Yea mustangs give me more of an "entry level track car" vibe

The Boss and Cobras are still bad ass

Mustangs were designed for women. Really go look it up.

You can't call the Chevy Camaro which was originally was a copycat of the original Ford Mustang as being more of a muscle car when it has been a generic knockoff since the beginning.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

the camaro has always been faster than the mustang so idk how you can copy that.

I think the mustang has been ‘softened' slightly to sell in international markets. It's been made to be more sports car-ish to appeal to drivers outside of the USA. The muscle car market doesn't appear outside of the USA, so the stang has to compete with cars that drive and handle really well (along with being fast). The Camaro is more of a muscle car in the traditional sense, just a fun tyre smoker that can also be used as a regular sedan when needed. Which is what I think muscle cars are all about.

the camaro isn't a sedan it's also a coupe. i think you might've confused it with a charger.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

When I say sedan I mean like you can use it as a regular car. As opposed to a sports car which generally don't have rear seats or trunk space

Mustang fugly Camaro gorgeous Thats all i know

by Anonymous 1 year ago

By what metric? The Camaro is widely considered the better track car out of those and will put down faster laps due to its better chassis and handling. The challenger is a muscle car, a boat with a big engine that cant turn.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

challenger wasn't mentioned here. the camaro might handle better but it's design & performance is considerably more "muscle" car esc than a mustang.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Neither are muscle cars though

by Anonymous 1 year ago

they are.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Sure maybe the gt500 and zl1 could be considered muscle cars, but any Camaro or mustang you can buy at a dealership is just a generic sports car

by Anonymous 1 year ago

No.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yet the mustang will be around longer than the Camaro.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

good for us because i love the mustang!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Actually you might be right on the mustang not being as much of a muscle car because it's staying around longer. Seeing that the camero and charger are going away by 2024 because they are all pushrod and won't meet emissions.
