Really depends on how well announced and such it was. Did customers expect there to be music, or was it really a surprise / not clearly announced?
Define impromptu? Were they not scheduled by the bar? I've never seen people just randomly come into a bar and start playing music. If they were scheduled with the bar, then you should find another bar.
