I'm 1,000% with you. I will not shop in Tiffany's because of their salespeople. My husband seems to think that I "need" to have something that comes in that blue box but I cannot stand having salespeople hovering. If I want to see something, I'll ask or my son will since I'm "not supposed to look at prices" because I will run screaming from the store.

Took a trip with my mom to our local Bath and Body Works one day. The body sprays all smelled like rubbing alcohol, the candles all smelt like burnt plastic, and these pushy salespeople were all up in our business. Never again.

Best sales tactic I ever ran into was at Wawa a second sandwich (normally about $3ish) was a dollar more. Clerk: do you want a second one? Me: ehhhh (glances over then looks back at the clerk) Clerk: it's only a dollar. All while being super uncaring and I could tell they didn't really give a crap if I got one or not. I would have said no of they said something like "we are having a special sale right now and if you get the second one it's only a dollar more". Tldr: I agree

To be honest, I find the argument of 'you won't know until you try it' to be rather condenscending. Sometimes, yeah, you might need to try something to figure out whether you like it or not. But, if I know I hate wool sweaters, why would I want to try something else with the same texture of a wool sweater. If I hate jalapeno I don't need to try jalapeno poppers to know I am not going to like them. Beyond that, pressuring me to try something after I already said no? Yeah, not going to get me to change my mind. Well, that is wrong. If there was ever a chance I had of trying whatever they were selling, I have now changed my mind to never try it even if it is the last thing on earth like it. We had a door to door salesman come out and he wouldn't take no for an answer. Finally my brother had to just say 'go away' because no matter how many times we said no, he would come back with something else.

Ohh yes definitely. I went to a store once to buy me some clothes and while I was just looking around, a staff member came and was really determined to make me try various clothes (that were overpriced) because of that,I ended up leaving without buying anything.

Unfortunately more often than not it's not their choice to be so aggressive in the sales, but upper management demanding higher and higher profits. Most of the time the sales people don't even get commission from it, so they're just forced to annoy you on someone else's behalf. I usually just wear headphones unless I'm actually required to talk to someone to buy something to avoid it

Take it, walk down the aisle still in sight, and drop it on the floor by the shelving. It isnout of the way, they see that their push was a failure, and if they don't go get it so will everyone else.
