+143 We're taught to be comfortable changing in front of the same sex in gym class, yet we're never told why. amirite?

All I know is, I've seen far too many old, naked men at LA Fitness. Those guys are unbelievably comfortable with walking around like that.

Honestly that should be normal. There is nothing inherently wrong with nudity and it shouldn't be stigmatized to the extent that it is. The *really* weird thing is how we're expected to completely cover up our bodies around the opposite sex.

I ALWAYS changed in the bathroom stall…. It was ALWAYS sooo uncomfortable.. some girls would be mad and would tell the teacher and she always told us not to.. I didn't care and did it anyways for 4 years

Oh goodness, grow up, it is just nature. Spend 5-10 minutes in a (mixed) sauna and the awkwardness is gone.

So where and why are you changing in front of people? Why would you want to be naked around others or see naked people?
