Comics are terrible because of the shared universes. amirite?
by Anonymous2 years ago
Yeah. Cross overs can be fun, but you don't have to make them a permanent thing! Just say it was a fun what if.

I wanna make a realistic punisher movie that takes place in our universe rather than the same universe as any superhero or villain

Well realistically he would be dead within the first 30 minutes of the movie.

Only if Wilson Fisk catches him

Here's the thing though the multiverse stuff was already established

I think the moment you add logic, reason, accountability to comics, the 'matrix' of that comic falls apart entirely.

Its definitely harder to write well and you're not wrong about the problems it causes. I don't think it makes them terrible though. Some of the greatest comic storylines ever are large crossover events.

So read comics by publishers that aren't Marvel or DC. Like Image or Dark Horse. Even Marvel and DC have some standalone series like Punisher Max or 90% of what DC published under their Vertigo imprint
>x-men shouldn't be in the same universe as the avengers. Learning that Metropolis is a ferry ride away from Gotham makes every story involving the joker committing mass murder seem silly
Why?

You're not the maker of those comics, are you? What you say don't matter nor will it change the decades of storylines that were out.
