Calling people "king" or "queen" for their achievements is dumb. amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
Okay, this just seems nit-picky...

I see what you did there...

I prefer overlord anyway

When I have a good "superior" at work, I like to call them a "Kind and benevolent overlord". (To their face - it's a compliment and you can effect positive change from below). When I am in charge of people, I try to be one. ๐

I'm sure you're an awesome overlord
by Anonymous1 year ago
๐ I am in fact kind and benevolent. ๐

Ok peasant

Silly compliments are dumb because they hurt the oppressive monarchy meaning. Got it.
Also nice job comparing it to racial supremacy. Very intellectual argument.

Where are you that this is happening? This seems like a non-issue

You dropped this: ๐

by Anonymous1 year ago
I prefer being called God
by Anonymous1 year ago
You are the king/queen of unpopular opinions

OP does not understand metaphorsโฆ
by Anonymous1 year ago
Nah let em do it, sounds super gay and I like to let people look like idiots

Agree, but not all monarchs get their status from birth. Some simply take it by force, which is just as bad. A monarch is a military dictator with some religious endorsement. Not a good thing.
by Anonymous1 year ago
What if their achievement is accending the throne of a Kingdom?
by Anonymous1 year ago
I prefer "Lord"
by Anonymous1 year ago
I agree it's dumb.
Constitutional monarchy however is the perfect form of government.
by Anonymous1 year ago
But...."we all kangs now".
lol
Remember that?

I feel like having abilities to accomplish things is status that you were born with. It may not be a social construction like the status of royalty, but the approval of one's abilities is a social construction. Like no one has to think that being good at kicking a ball around is worthy of praise, but many who enjoy football/soccer seem to think so. I used to believe in meritocracy, but I've come to realize it's ableist. No one chose to be born, especially not the life they live that comes after. Many people experience trauma, have birth defects, grow up in unfavorable conditions, etc.

You are a ki- *ahem* I meant overlord for saying this. I agree with you.
