Movies with ambiguous endings should not be made, amirite?
by Anonymous2 years ago
"Things that are open to interpretation should not exists"
This is a nonsensical opinion.

Yikes

It's a pretty stupid opinion, but at least OP has an actual unpopular opinion.

This is a long way to say you hate having the opportunity to think about something for yourself.

There's an old old story called the princess and the tiger.
A peasant once loved a princess, the only child of a mighty warlord. To make matters worse, she loved him back and the warlord found out about this.
The warlord could not abide by the idea that his daughter would marry him. So the peasant was captured and thrown in a pit with 2 doors. Behind one door was a tiger, behind the other was a peasant woman. In the morning the man would open one of the doors, if it was the tiger he would be ripped apart. If it was the woman he would be married on the spot
During the night the process found out which door had the tiger and which had the woman. In the morning the peasant man looked to her for guadance. She nods towards one door, and the man opens it.
The end

You would love inception

OP mentioned inception, so I'd suggest The Platform

My imaginative brain has to disagree. But this sort of thing is a preference and I see where you are coming from. I love loose ends, I love making my own assessment of the "meaning" behind a movie that abruptly ended when you wanted to know what happens next.
A movie that reflects this is "Martha Marcy May Marlene" with Elizabeth Olsen. The ending is so stark. Same with "A Serious Man". You are left thinking wtf, but their lives are still a mess?! they didn't even fix any of their problems!!?
That being said, this genre of film requires excellent actors and an excellent concept to be engaging and satisfactory for me. Personally I think its hard for directors to pull off, but when its done correctly its \*chefs kiss\*

I guess you really didn't get it.

In truth , this is a unpopular opinion
But ambiguous ends are putting one into creating different scenarios, are made to make people think.
The fast paced society, the dopamine need and gratification are begging for easy and conclusive answers.

OP would *love* games made by Fromsoftware.
