Cyclist should be banned from using the roads, amirite?
by Anonymous2 years ago
Cyclists were some of the first people to advocate for paved roads.

We certainly shouldn't discourage physical activity, especially not in the U.S.

This is more of an unhinged rant than an unpopular opinion.

I think the real problem is the sheer amount of people that need to be transported around in small congested areas.
Think about the reasons people drive around and how many people are in the Cars taking up space , the cyclists are taking up less space but still a decent chunk along with needing their own special lanes most the time.
If public transport was better and more effective we would just have urban areas dedicated to public transport and pedestrian traffic. Obviously there are going to be exceptions for certain things but streamline public transportation in urban areas is the main thing while eliminating private transportation.

Roads are for people to travel, not cars.
If some people choose to travel by bicycle, that's up to them.

There are scenarios in which cyclists on roads are a danger to drivers as well as themselves. Riding a bike in 40 mph traffic at dusk is reckless.

Yeah, but sleeping in the break room at work while my dog misses dinner at home, wasn't an option was willing to consider back before I could afford a car.

That's a good point. Good judgement and respect for others is the key. People who ride a bike to work out of necessity deserve respect.

what are you talking about? the title is about bikes, but then you go on a rant about straws and the government. exxon valdez??? what the hell are you on about?
focus your ideas and try again

This one again?
Because you don't own the road just because you paid $$$ for your vehicle. You only have the privilege of sharing it with every other human like the rest of us.

I live in a pretty rural area and I don't see what's wrong with riding a bike. If you don't have the money or live close enough to work/school, then hell yea, pedal that bitch till the wheels fall off.
You can always go around or just be patient. It's not that hard
