Another unpopular opinion tangential to this is that I prefer to regulate *all* updates on my computers and devices, and I actually do with some specific hacks. I've been doing this for decades and I have *never* experienced any untoward consequences or the toted potential "compromises" to my information due to exposed loopholes or security vulnerability - the *boogeyman* used to scare the masses into compliance which works every time!
