The validity of this opinion depends on the movie that you had in mind while writing it out. A movie like Tenet? Yeah that movie was pure wank and needlessly overcomplicated to the detriment of the film. A movie like Lost Highway? Not 'getting it' is part of the point and the appeal for a lot of people who enjoy David Lynch films.
