False. The 90s were the pinnacle of American society. The Reagan / Bush 80s were like neanderthal times comparatively. Too much synth music, too much greed, too much hair product, too much corporate. Summed up by comparing 2 movies. The 80s were Wall Street, the 90s were Reality Bites. Watch those two and then tell me they look anything alike.

Reality Bites is the perfect example of a movie that looked cool and sophisticated at the time but now seems really dated. Watch music videos from the 90s. At the time the sound, fashion and special effects used all looked really cool and futuristic and SO MUCH more sophisticated than those stupid 80s! But now you watch them now and they seem so of their time. Wow, this is so 80s! Maybe late 80s, early nineties. 89? 91? No, it's from ninety ninety SEVEN.

In the 1980's the 1940's seemed ancient. The 1980's vs. the 2020's not as much. 90's music vs. 2020's music more similar than 90's music vs. 60's music.
