I highly dislike that one. An opportunity! Unsure if it will work but i will try to drive over them. Ah bugger they survived and police caught me, also someone i was talking to heard me say i went to try to end them. I went to attempt an murder, i failed and now its an attempted murder

You did not set out to commit attempted murder you set out to commit murder, then it failed. You might have attempted murder but you dident set out to do it

If you set out to murder and failed at actually murdering someone, that's exactly what the charge is for. Attempted murder still carries intent. I think you're confusing manslaughter with murder. Manslaughter is usually the unintentional act. Attempt means you legit tried and failed.

I think that's OP's point. You can only set out to commit murder. If you committed either murder or attempted murder, then you had to set out to commit murder

But you can set out to try and miss someone with the shot, then you would be charged with attempted murder, and that is what you set out to do.

If you try to miss you didn't set out to commit attempted murder, you might be setting out to commiting fraud for pretending too, or some other crime but your not setting out to commit attempted murder. You might also set out to be charged with attempted murder.

Yes so you can set out to be charged with it, but it wouldn't be what you actually set out to commit. Because what you set out to commit was GBH or assault or no crime at all.
