+171 We should clone scientists and highly intelligent people, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Speaking from a genetician's point of view: that won't work. Every cloned mammal has died far earlier than commonly known for the species. And every mammal had psychological problems. Genetics may help with intelligence but not with knowledge, which all of these people acquired during their time growing up. Repeating that will be impossible.

>Speaking from a genetician's point of view: that won't work. Every cloned mammal has died far earlier than commonly known for the species. And every mammal had psychological problems. Well yeah that's a problem >Genetics may help with intelligence but not with knowledge, which all of these people acquired during their time growing up. Repeating that will be impossible. We have way more knowledge now than when those people lived, but they will lack experience which could be gained with time but will vary from one clone to another

But we don't know if they will end up the same as they did historically. Why not just provide better education for the non-cloned youth?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

We can do that simultaneously but some brilliant minds don't come by easily and we have a way to preserve them so why don't we do it

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You are not preserving anything - do you have any proof that a cloned mind will end up as intelligent as the person you are cloning?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

We won't know unless we try

Do you think its ethical to clone someone with the purpose of controlling their lives?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

We are all controlled since the day we are born the range of control is different from one country to another dictatorship countries have absolute control, democratic countries have less control but still there is control Is it ethical? No Does it exist anyway? yes

by Anonymous 1 year ago

So you believe its a problem, but still want to do it because it happens anyways? Why? Consider how many intelligent people exist today, what do you think Nicola Tesla or Einstein could offer that todays scientists do not?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Person must haven't seen any "clone turned villain" story ever. Textbook villain origin story. "My life is a lie. How do I know I'm really me? My former self was one of the greatest humans who ever lived...so I'll become the worst."

Cut to the alarms blaring in the research facility and a doctor with a screwdriver sticking in his eye socket. Inverse-Tesla walks out of the facility wearing the doctors lab coat and security badge.

That's what Jeffrey Epstein wanted to do. Great company for you.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Didn't Jeffrey Epstein had an island where he would have gusts to have sex with minors, how is that remotely the same or is there something about him that I don't know

Highly illegal and immoral

Wars are immoral and illegal we do it anyway

Highly illegal and immoral.

Is he saying we should Megamind? I'm pretty sure he's saying we should Megamind.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You dont need to. There are scientists today.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yeah but imagine cloning 100 Nikola tesla wouldn't that accelerate science

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Maybe. I think finance is an issue as well. How would you solve that problem to employ 100 Teslas when there are plenty of scientists today? You might be romanticizing these people. Tesla was a businessman as much as he was an engineer and thats why he is famous. He didn't invent the things he built his brand on, he improved and marketed them.

Isn't that just a different way of saying eugenics

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It is

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's about nurture, not biology alone

*…wouldn't be the most unethical thing we did as humans."* Only one thing gets to be the ***MOST*** anything at once. We didn't start excusing human trafficking because murderers exist. It's not just bad logic, but also something only a lunatic could get behind.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Are you high or something?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Also add dictators to the list. Why would they just limit such technology to scientists? That being said, fully artificial cloning is yet to be practised. The natural example are monozygotic twins but even they have differences. Not genetic, but environment can have huge effects.

He's my clone, Carl²

by Anonymous 1 year ago

John Nash... is that you? seriously, i fairly agree, but this will just end up with morons instead cloning themselves.... the dumber the more narcissist, i sometimes think that idiocracy already happened
