I guess you don't have to explain, but why? Like how? How does wearing headphones make u look like a "clown"?

Honestly, I don't think it's fair to judge someone based on their choice of headphones. Everyone has different preferences and there's no right or wrong answer.

It's an unpopular opinion, not a reasonable one ;) I am aware that it's totally irrational. I could give plenty of reasons, but it would really just be rationalising (like all likes/dislikes). But OK, let's give it a shot: people wearing them scream to me "I am Apple's puppet, and if they sold me a $100 BT clown's nose to track my health I would wear that too, 'cos I can't decide for myself when I look like a jester"

That doesn't make any sense do you not understand that there is a practicality aspect to it? With AirPods I don't need my phone to be 3 inches from my earphone I can be in another room and still listen to them.

Dude, they are just used to listen to music, it isn't any deeper than that. I use them because they work better with my iPhone than other earphones + they feel comfy and sound great.

Anything in a person's ear makes them look silly. Whether it is the headphones that look like a Q-tip or the one that looks like a hearing aid, they are dumb. But this is the trend and for better or worst, we all will look like clown and we will like it.

fun fact, in the turn of the '00-'10s when people (including myself) were trying to use less directly-offensive pejoratives i started to use the word "cretin" as a stand-in for a schuck, a dope, a real dummy. in my immature youth i might call someone "gay" or something else that is offensive. but then i realized that "Cretin", as funny and innocuous as it sounds, is actually what you call a resident from the island of Crete. i'm still not opposed to using the word "Cretin" because it's so obscure that A) it's unlikely you will ever meet an actual Cretin and B) it's so obscure that you could argue that it has nothing actual to do with people from Crete, it's just a funny sounding word. also i agree RE: airpods. makes you look like a hoosier!

I believe you're mistaken. The demonym for Crete is Cretan. A cretin is indeed an insult, derived from the aspect and impairments suffered by individuals with iodine deficiency syndrome. (I also like confusing people when you insult them, makes it a little less likely to be beaten up).
