No one cares about your interest rate, amirite?

Tell me you have no money without actually saying you don't have any money.
Honestly it's people with not a lot of money that the interest rates affect the most because they're the people that usually need a loan.

Being bored about talking about money or interest rates is a wealthy person's thing...

Its a person without investments thing so...kinda

We talk about it because financing $400,000 at 3.5% is a very different animal from financing it at 7%.

The real flex is paying off your debt before the interest rate even matters.

Most people don't have $300k just sitting around. Also at a low interest rate, it's cheap to borrow.

Interest rate pissing contests are fun when you know you're going to win.
It usually evens out though. Inlaws bought their house 20 years ago with a 30 year mortgage. We paid 35k more, 30 year mortgage, and our interest rate is less than half theirs. Mortgage payments are almost the same.

OP unless the owner of the house is trying to resell it at a loss, who's to say they overpaid?
And even if they did overpay at least they are earning equity every month in their home opposed to a person paying rent because they just see their money completely disappear on a monthly basis.

You must have some pretty boring friends or coworkers if that's what you're talking about
